1. Preamble
This Service Agreement establishes the terms and conditions governing the use of CNJN Studios. It outlines the rights and responsibilities of both CNJN and its clients to ensure a professional, efficient, and fair experience for all users of our facilities.
These terms have been developed to maintain the integrity of CNJN Studios and to protect its resources, equipment, and services. CNJN reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these policies at its sole discretion and without prior notice. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting.
Failure to comply with these policies may result in the suspension or termination of access to CNJN Studios, its equipment, and its services. Users acknowledge that by utilizing CNJN facilities, they agree to adhere to these terms and accept any consequences of non-compliance.
2. Studio Membership Status
Patrons will be granted the title of “Member” only after successfully applying, passing the screening process, and meeting compliance requirements. Membership status provides access to the privileges outlined herein and is included in the onboarding package, along with access to the Acuity Scheduling Platform.

- Membership is granted at CNJN’s sole discretion upon successful segmentation and compliance approval.
- CNJN reserves the right to revoke membership at any time without notice or appeal.
- Access & Privileges
- Members receive access to the online portal for scheduling and resource management.
- Studio use is permitted based on the segmentation rate assigned during onboarding.
- Restrictions
- No Voting Rights – Members have no influence over organizational decisions, policies, or governance.
- No Public Meeting Rights – Members are not entitled to attend or participate in CNJN board meetings or organizational discussions.
- Limited Studio Use – Access is subject to CNJN’s policies, availability, and segmentation classification.
3. Three-Strike Rule & Termination
CNJN enforces a three-strike policy to ensure compliance with operational standards and community guidelines. Strikes are issued for violations of policies, improper use of facilities, or failure to adhere to outlined procedures.
- First Strike – Warning
The individual will receive a formal written warning outlining the violation.
Acknowledgment of receipt is required. - Second Strike – Probation
The individual will be placed on probation, with restricted access to services for a defined period.
A second violation may require additional training or a compliance review. - Third Strike – Termination
Membership, access, or privileges will be permanently revoked.
A formal termination notice will be issued, and access to CNJN resources will be disabled.

- Users must adhere to all studio policies. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent bans from the facility.
4. Studio Use Protocols
User Responsibilities
- Users must set up, use, and clean up the space properly.
- Props are allowed if they are non-destructive and do not alter the studio layout (e.g., no rugs, but pillows are allowed).
- The studio layout may not be altered.
- Food and drink are prohibited while operating the control board.
Board Operator Policy
- CNJN Studios do not provide staffing. The studios are fully equipped for operation by a single user.
- First-time users will receive training, and on-call support is available.
- Users are responsible for bringing a board operator to manage studio technology if needed.
Studio Selection
- Users may not change their booked studio or services upon arrival.
- Last-minute requests for alternative studios or additional services are not guaranteed.
Scheduling System Protocol
- Users must follow the designated scheduling system for reserving studio time.
- Cancellations are allowed at any time, but the deposit will not be refunded. If a coupon was used, 50% of the full paid invoice will not be refunded.
- Late arrivals will not forfeit their reservation; however, time will not be extended past the booked period.
- Users exceeding their scheduled time will be charged an additional fee per hour, with a maximum overage of one hour.
- Repeat offenders exceeding a one hour overage may face scheduling restrictions or penalties.
Equipment Handling
- Users are responsible for the proper care and usage of all equipment.
- Damage due to negligence or misuse will be financially assessed, and users will be invoiced accordingly.
5. Refunds & Remuneration
Refunds
Refunds will only be issued in the following circumstances:
- Hardware Failure – Malfunctioning equipment preventing recording.
- Power Issues – Unresolved electrical failures affecting operation.
- Emergency Building Closure – Situations such as fire, lockdown, or other emergencies preventing access.
Footage Issues
If recorded footage is compromised, an investigation will determine the cause:
- Studio Error – If the issue is due to a studio-related problem, a reshoot may be offered or a partial refund issued.
- User Error – If the issue is caused by the user (e.g., SD card failure, improper handling), no refund or compensation will be provided.
6. User Rental Agreement
Users are responsible for content produced within CNJN Studios and agree to indemnify and hold harmless CNJN and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from liability, legal fees, or expenses incurred.
7. Service Agreement
Entitlement to Services
- Studio members are entitled only to the specific services they have booked within CNJN Studios.
Payment Policy
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking.
- The remaining balance will be automatically charged to the card saved on file.
- Overages are billed at $100 per hour after a 15-minute grace period.
- If you exceed your booking time, your card will be charged the full hourly rate.
- Discount codes do not apply to overtime charges.
Appointment Scheduling
- All appointments must be scheduled through our online system; phone calls and emails will not be considered.
8. Studio Rules
Inappropriate Behavior
- Lewd, indecent, erotic, or obscene behavior on CNJN premises or at CNN-sponsored activities is prohibited.
- Obscene or indecent materials are strictly prohibited.
Unlawful Acts
- Engaging in any unlawful activity while on CNJN premises or participating in CNN-sponsored events is prohibited.
Smoking & Substance Use
- Smoking is prohibited inside CNJN facilities.
- The use, possession, or distribution of any controlled substance, illegal drug, or alcoholic beverage on CNJN premises is prohibited.
Property Damage & Misrepresentation
- Intentional or reckless destruction of CNJN property or others’ property on CNJN premises is prohibited.
- Individuals and organizations may not identify themselves as CNJN employees or agents unless explicitly hired by CNJN.
Weapons & Hazardous Materials
- The use or possession of weapons, explosives, dangerous chemicals, or pyrotechnics is prohibited unless part of an approved production with prior written permission from the CNJN Executive Director.
Copyright & Slander
- Any material that constitutes slander, libel, invasion of privacy, unfair competition, or trademark/copyright violations is prohibited.
- Copyrighted materials may not be used unless the user provides written authorization (e.g., releases, licenses, or other permissions).
9. File Distribution Policy
- Raw media files will be delivered via Dropbox within 1-2 days after production.
- Users are responsible for downloading and securing their files within the provided time frame.
- Media may be deleted from CNJN’s systems 1-2 weeks after being sent to members.
10. Broadcasting Compliance
- If you are using CNJN Studios to create content intended for broadcast on CNJN streams, you must review and adhere to the CNJN Broadcasting Terms of Service which can be found here: Link
11. Nonprofit Complimentary Editing Policy
Nonprofits may qualify for complimentary editing under the following conditions:
- Complimentary edits are limited to one round of basic edits (e.g., trimming, color correction, basic audio balancing).
- Additional edit requests beyond the first round will incur standard editing fees.
- Requests for excessive revisions, minute detail adjustments, or stylistic preferences will not be honored under the complimentary service.
- CNJN reserves the right to determine the scope of complimentary editing and may deny requests deemed excessive or unreasonable.
- No endorsements of any private businesses are allowed.
By booking and using CNJN Studios, users agree to abide by these Terms of Service.
